Medway 3 Gravesham 4 (Scorers: Gingell, Flynn (2), Britten)
Greenacre Academy, Bradfields Avenue, Walderslade, Kent, ME5 0LE
Gravesham played Medway in their first game of the season on a blustery morning. Gravesham suffered an early blow when goalkeeper Jordan Thomas felt unwell prior to the game and had to be replaced by Jason Cook who went on to make several important saves during the game.
In the first half Gravesham played against the wind but played some neat football and caused their hosts a number of problems. However, Medway also threatened and it was the home side that took the lead and went in at half-time leading 1-0.
Gravesham made a good start to the second half and equalised when Max Ferdinand's slick pass found George Gingell On the right hand-side of the penalty area and he calmly converted. Harry Britten then gave Gravesham the lead with a thunderous shot form outside the penalty area and the industrious Paddy Flynn made the advantage 3-1. However, Medway continued to battle and scored again to make the score 3-2. In an exciting climax to the game Paddy Flynn restored Gravesham's two goal advantage before Medway scored again to make the final score 4-3.

Horsmonden Sports Club, The Dog House Ground, Maidstone Road, Horsmonden TN12 8NE 10.00am kick off
The first 10 minutes were tightly contested, with both teams having chances to score. The scoring opened with Alfie Blowers-Wright scoring an outrageous chip over the West Kent Keeper who got finger tips to the ball but couldn't keep it out the net. Gravesham had control of the game for the rest of the first half, and just before half time a lovely team move was well finished by Jason Cook to give Gravesham a 2-0 lead at the interval.
Gravesham started the second half how they ended the first with all the possession of the ball. Within three minutes it was 3-0 when Alfie Blowers-Wright dribbled through two players and hit the shot off the far post and into the back of the net. The fourth goal came from a Gravesham goal kick. Goalkeeper Jordan Thomas played a short pass to Jack King, who then played the ball into the midfield to Max Ferdinand, he played the ball through the lines to Harry Britten who burst through only to be pulled back by his man and a penalty was awarded. Harry got up to take the penalty, putting it in the top corner leaving the keeper with no chance. At this point Gravesham we're passing the ball around majestically, and Paddy Flynn broke down the right and smashing it past the keeper to make it 5-0 to Gravesham. Another fine move saw Tobi Johnson played through and he made no mistake slotting the ball through the keepers legs to make it 6-0. With the game almost over West Kent continued to fight to get back in the game. A mistake in the defence lead to a penalty being awarded to West Kent. The penalty was struck hard and low but keeper Jordan Thomas got down to his right to make a fine save and the ball was cleared by a defender. The final goal came through a great solo effort from Paddy Flynn, who took the ball around three players before smashing the ball in the bottom corner. A very strong performance from Gravesham who were solid in defence and lethal in front of goal culminated in a 7-0 win.

Swale 1 Gravesham 2 (Scorers: Johnson, Flynn)
Sheppey United FC (Youth pitches next to stadium), Holm Park, Queenborough Road, Halfway, Sheerness, Kent, ME12 3DB 2pm kick off
The game started at a frantic pace, with both teams trying to take control of the game. Gravesham started the well, having the majority of possession. The first chance came following good play down the left and a cross from Tobi Johnson was met by Jason Cook but he couldn't direct his effort on target. Gravesham continued to dominate possession, then in the 10th minute a chipped ball from Harry Britten was in the path of Paddy Flynn who out paced the defence to get his shot in, which was saved by the Swale keeper before Tobi Johnson was there to tap the ball in to make the score 1-0. Gravesham were the stronger side going into half time, but could not take a number of chance to increase their lead.
The second half started at the same pace as the first, Swale were now in the game and missed a great opportunity when the ball broke loose and their striker fired over the bar. Both teams continued to create chances but neither could convert the chances. Then from a long clearance from a freekick in their own half, the ball went over the Gravesham defence and the Swale striker run onto the ball and tucked the ball past the Gravesham keeper to equalise. Gravesham stepped up the pace and started to control the game. A number of chances went begging with the game coming to a close. After a double substitution and a shuffle around of players the ball fell to one of the substitutes Jason Cook who flicked the ball to Paddy Flynn who used his pace to run past the Swale defence and smash the ball hard and low under the goal keeper making it 2-1 with five minutes to go. Swale pushed players forward trying to get the equaliser leaving gaps in their own defence which the Gravesham players took advantage of but couldn't put the ball in the back of the net.
At the final whistle Gravesham went through to the final after a very strong performance.
