Saturday 1st October Kent Cup
North Kent 4 Gravesham 3 (Scorers: Parish, Hicks, Busby)
Gravesham U13s played North Kent in a repeat of last seasons Kent Cup semi final, and the game took a similar path with half chances at either end, but neither team unable to break the deadlock. After 20 minutes the game remained at stalemate until from a quick short corner a long shot from the angle flew into the far corner of the Gravesham net to put North Kent 1-0 up.
The response was almost instant, with Danny Parish going 1 on 1 with the keeper and coolly slotting in to equalise. Half time arrived and after a much needed water break due to the searing heat, Gravesham stepped up the pressure in the second half and after 7mins were rewarded after Parish turned provider and Dwain Hicks fired home for a 2-1 lead. Five minutes later North Kent were level and they started to dominate the game. This was followed up with a 3rd and 4th to go 4-2 up. Gravesham to their credit did not give up and continued to fight back and from a throw the ball fell to harlie Busby to loop over the keeper to make it 4-3. Gravesham were further presented with a couple of opportunities in the last minute, but were unable to convert.
It was a hard fought game, in extremely hot conditions, but both sides played the game in the right spirit and provided a highly entertaining encounter.
Saturday 5th November Kent Cup
Gravesham 2 Bromley 2 (Scorers: Busby (2, 1 penalty))
Gravesham U13s faced the current Kent Cup Champions knowing they were in for a thorough test and so it proved. The game started evenly, then within 5mins Macey Malyon attacked and found himself in the Bromley box, a laid back ball to the supporting Joe Neal was chipped to the far post where Dwain Hicks pulled back to Charlie Busby for a tap in. Bromley soon got hold of the game and started to control from their midfield, but solid defensive displays from Jack Beatty and Jasdeep Khunkhun limited the visitors to long range efforts. Gravesham continued to break away and created a few chances that they were unable to convert and then on 30 minutes Bromley capitalised on a long ball wide over the defence and lobbed the advancing Ben Nourse for a simple tap in on the line to make it 1-1 at half time.
With Gravesham defending against the slope, the second half was always going to be tough and Bromley definitely started to dominate. However, on a rare breakaway, Busby advanced to the Bromley box and got himself between the goalkeeper and defender where he was brought down for a penalty. He got up to take the kick, where he placed the ball down the middle,.The keeper did get a hand to it, but not enough to stop the ball going in to give Gravesham a 2-1 lead. Bromley continued to apply the pressure, but the back line stood firm and rode their luck. As time was running out, it was looking like Gravesham were going to cause an upset, but in the 31st minute, a loose ball into the Gravesham box was not cut out and a Bromley player turned to shoot into the corner to earn a deserved equaliser. The final whistle was soon after and Gravesham had earned a hard fought 2-2 draw.
Saturday 26th November Kent Cup
East Sussex 3 Gravesham 2 (Scorers: Busby, Campbell)
This Kent Cup match was a repeat of last weeks encounter and the game certainly followed the same pattern with E Sussex dominating for long periods but unable to penetrate the Gravesham defence to create clear chances. But it was Gravesham who took the lead early in the game with Charlie Busby pouncing on a poor back pass to punish the home team. Within 5 minutes East Sussex were level with a move down the left flank to complement their flowing football. The second half started with Gravesham narrowly missing after their best move of the game but East Sussex soon punished Gravesham's lack of concentration with 2 goals to lead 3-1. With 10minutes to go Gravesham finally began to find space and created several good chances with Hicks going close, but it was Campbell who was rewarded for working hard to pressurise the defence and tapped in from a defensive error. More chances were created but it was all a little too late and the the final whistle blew to find Gravesham on the wrong side of a 3-2 result.

The rest of the half followed the same pattern with E Sussex having the majority of the possession, but not forcing the keeper to make a save. The second half saw Gravesham make a few chances but again they struggled to get the ball and with eight minutes to go they were punished for not clearing their lines and conceded a goal to go to extra time.

This Wimbledon Challenge Trophy quarter final game saw Gravesham entertain Canterbury and with a strong wind and defending the slope, Gravesham faced a lot of early pressure from Canterbury, but against the run of play, Gravesham broke away and took the lead through Danny Parish. Canterbury then replied after sustained pressure and then added a second. Once again Gravesham on a rare breakaway then equalised through Dale Sutherland and trying to hold on for half time conceded after some sloppy defending.
The second half provided much optimism playing with the wind and slope and they were soon rewarded after a cross from Malyon was headed in by Sutherland to tie the game at three-a-piece.
Canterbury seemed to adapt better to the conditions and with 25mins to go scored 2 quick goals to lead 5-3. Gravesham then pushed on trying to get back in the game, but left themselves open at the back for 2 further breakaways to leave the game beyond reach and finally succumbing to a 7-3 loss.
